The fashion designer expands his empire to hospitality with the brand's first-ever hotel in Dubai.

Dubai, the glittery flagship of the United Arab Emirates is hardly known for its restraint. And yet, Giorgio Armani, king of understatement, luxury and elegance, might very well be the perfect match for a place that defines itself by opulence. The fashion designer and lifestyle impresario's first hotel is a mini-Armani universe and a study in luxury in Dubai.

Located in Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building, the 160-room hotel offers the high-end spartan look that Mr. Armani has come to be known for. Details like stone floors, fabric-covered walls and zebra-wood flooring? Check. A sexy, low-lit vibe? Check. Rooms entirely decked out in furniture from the designer's Armani Casa line? Check. All the signature touches that you'd expect abound in the space which occupies the first eight floors as well as number 38 and 39 of the skyscraper.

But there's much, much more. The Armani touch can also be seen in the hotel's eight restaurants, including Peck Deli, a Milanese institution, as well as others, all bearing the Armani name and specializing cuisines as varied as Mediterranean, Indian and Japanese. And of course, there's the shopping! An Armani Galleria shop featuring couture accessories from the Privé line is the first of its kind.

Sleeping Armani, eating Armani and shopping Armani... what else is there? Well for one, you can also stop into Armani Dolci for chocolates and sweets, or pick up some flowers at Armani Fiori designed by -- you guessed it -- Armani! And if all the revelry and shopping leaves you tired, there's always time for a breather at Armani Spa. You've got to hand it to Mr. Armani for thinking of it all.

Though this particular brand of luxury doesn't exactly come cheap -- rooms begin at about $750. Too far to travel? A second Armani Hotel is set to open in Milan next year and next up -- locations in Marrakech, Tokyo, New York, Shanghai and London. Perfect for the Armani aficionado. For now, I think I'll settle for an Armani chocolate-covered almond.

The couple walked hand-in-hand toward Proposal Rock, ankle-deep in water Saturday afternoon.

The tide had receded around the iconic -- and aptly named -- rock formation near Neskowin Beach, and 45-year-old Scott Napper of Silverton hoped to use the opportunity to formally ask 22-year-old Leafil Alforque to marry him.

When Alforque suggested they climb the rock itself, Napper said Wednesday, he thought it was "perfect, because that's exactly what I wanted to do."

The couple met through an Internet dating site in 2005 and had set a wedding date for Dec. 6. But Napper said Proposal Rock was the spot he wanted to ask for Alforque's hand in marriage ceremonially and give her the ring that waited in his pocket.

Alforque had arrived in Silverton just three days earlier on a fiancee visa from the Philippines. It was her first visit to the Oregon coast.

At some point during the walk to the rock, the two let go of each other's hands. From the angle they took walking toward the formation, Napper said, "you can't see the waves coming in."

About 10 feet from the rock, a wave 2- to 3-feet high suddenly came toward them.

"I turned into it to keep from getting pulled under it," he said. The water receded in a few seconds, and he turned to look for the diminutive Alforque, 4-foot-11 and 93 pounds. By then, he said, "She was about 30 feet away, getting swept away."

Leafil AlforqueHe said he immediately tore off his jacket to get rid of any extra weight, and when he looked up again she was gone.

"That's the last I saw of her," he said Wednesday, breaking into tears.

He said he felt panicked and ran up on the rocks nearby for a better view.

"I yelled for her," he said. "I was praying to God."

He said emergency personnel called by a someone on the beach arrived within minutes. His own phone no longer worked after being exposed to the water.

Along with rescuers, he searched for any sign of Alforque. At one point, he saw someone wearing red -- the color of her jacket -- on the shore signaling for him. For a moment, he said, he thought the nightmare was over. But as he got closer he realized it was a rescuer.

"It wasn't her," he said softly.

Thick fog and dangerous water conditions hampered the rescue efforts as darkness encroached.

After another day, the search was officially suspended Monday. That was also the day 25-year-old Nova Alforque, back in the Philippines, learned of her sister's disappearance.

"She's missing five days now," Nova Alforque said on Wednesday. "My mother is always crying, day and night. She wants my sister back. Even if she is dead, she wants her body to bury."

The Tillamook County Sheriff's Office is routinely checking the beach and looking for possible witnesses, said Sheriff Todd Anderson. Police don't suspect foul play, he said.

Napper said that he and Leafil Alforque had been dating online for two years, and that they met in person for the first time in January when he spent three weeks in the Philippines.

"We got along so well, she was such a kind loving girl," he said. "She would say things like, 'Thank you for loving me.'"

Napper said he plans to go to the lower north falls near Silverton on Saturday -- the couple's planned wedding day -- to say a prayer and put on his ring.

"I still close my eyes and see her reaching out to me," he said.

I am very happy when i recieved my appointment letter Interview for permanent residence from uscis yesterday, It'll be next year January 2009 (huh) feel anxious. any way i have all supporting documents that i needed for my appointment, hopefully i can passed. :-)

Be careful who you depend on for your self-steem.If you depend on others,the invalidator will shower you with compliments until you are totally dependent on him,then he will take you apart piece by piece until you are in his control.
The whole idea is to get you introverted and introspective so you don't notice what is going on outside yourself.Once you start looking anxiously and self-consciously at yourself,the invalidator will subtly draw your attention to all your most negative qualities.This will make you feel weaker,more susceptible to control.
By doing this,the invalidator can pull you down to size.He may feel that he worries too much,while you usually appear calm and confident.If he can get you to come down to his level and start worrying more,then he feels superior.Abd oh!by the way,he will be the first to offer to help.
After a while,you worry about what he thinks,What he will do,Wether he will be angry at you or not.You stop looking at yourself after a while because you see so much wrong with you that you totally depend on him for your sense of worth.
And then when even he doesn't want you.......?

"THERE WAS ONCE THIS GUY WHO IS VERY MUCH INLOVE WITH THIS GIRL.THIS ROMANTIC GUY FOLDED 1,000 PIECES OF PAPER CRANES AS A GIFT TO HIS GIRL.ALTHOUGH,AT THAT TIME HE WAS JUST A SMALL FRY IN HIS COMPANY,HIS FUTURE DID'NT SEEM TOO BRIGHT,THEY WERE VERY HAPPY TOGETHER.UNTIL ONE DAY,HIS GIRL TOLD HIM SHE WAS GOING TO PARIS AND WILL NEVER COME BACK.SHE ALSO TOLD HIM THAT SHE CONNOT VISUALIZE ANY FUTURE FOR THE BOTH OF THEM,SO THEY WENT THEIR OWN WAYS THERE AND THEN.........

YOU NEVER FAIL UNTIL YOU STOP TRYING. ONE RAINY DAY,WHILE THIS GUY WAS DRIVING,HE SAW AN ELDERLY COUPLE SHARING AN UMBRELLA IN THE RAIN WALKING TO SOME DESTINATION. EVEN WITH THE UMBRELLA,THEY WERE STILL DRENCHED. IT DIDN'T TAKE HIM LONG TO REALIZE THEY WERE HIS GIRL'S PARENTS.

WITH HEART IN GETTING BACK AT THEM, HE DROVE SLOWLY BESIDE THE COUPLE, WANTING THEM TO SPOT HIM IN HIS LUXURY SEDAN. HE WANTED THEM TO KNOW THAT HE WASN'T THE SAME ANYMORE ; HE HAD HIS OWN COMPANY, CAR, CONDO, ETC. HE MADE IT! WHAT HE SAW NEXT CONFUSED HIM, THE COUPLE WAS WALKING TOWARDS A CEMETERY, AND SO HE GOT OUT OF HIS CAR AND FOLLOWED... AND HE SAW HIS GIRL, A PHOTOGRAPH OF HER SMILING SWEETY AS EVER AT HIM FROM HER TOMBSTONE AND HE SAW HIS PAPER CRANES RIGHT BESIDE HER.........

HER PARENTS SAW HIM. HE ASK THEM WHY THIS HAD HAPPENED. THEY EXPLAINED,SHE DIDNOT LEAVE FOR FARNCE AT ALL. SHE WAS ILL WITH CANCER. SHE HAD BELIEVE THAT THE WILL MAKE IT SOMEDAY, BUT SHE DID NOT WANT TO BE HIS OBSTACLE..... THERE FOR SHE HAD CHOSEN TO LEAVE HIM.....

JUST BECUASE SOMEONE DOESN'T LOVE YOU THE WAY YOU WANT THEM TO, DOESN'T MEAN THEY DON'T LOVE YOU WITH ALL THEY HAVE. SHE HAD WANTED HER PARENTS TO PUT HIS PAPER CRANES BESIDE HER, BECUASE, IF THE DAY COMES WHEN FATE BRINGS HIM TO HER AGAIN.....HE CAN TAKE SOME OF THOSE BACK WITH HIM.........

ONCE YOU HAVE LOVED, YOU WILL ALWAYS LOVE. FOR WHATS IN YOUR MIND AMY ESCAPE BUT WHATS IN YOUR HEART WILL REMAIN FOREVER.

have you ever encounter people who are worm Aphobia? Thats me,any kind of worm either it is little tiny worm I am afraid,i don't know for me it is strange like snake,I never ever touch worm even worm picture or video,movie,Im scared.I really don't know.hehe all my friends said worm is harmless it wont bite or bother me but for me its not Im really scared of of it.
